Shaw and teammate Clark Wiegman created an art overlay at the Down Town Olympia Transit Center in Olympia WA. Shaw contributed BROMELIAD, the pedestrian island pavement design, and CITY RIVER, a stained glass map of Olympia occupying the customer service building clerestory. Wiegman created the interior valence BRAID, and VORTEX, three swirling steel lattice sculptures under the main pedestrian canopy. The artists also helped the community create ceramic tile embedments which remember Olympia before transit center. This artwork suite by Shaw and Wiegman, collectively titled RAINFOREST, exhibits themes of transit, civilization and nature.
